Classroom Expectations:
Students are encouraged to use the internet as a resource, however be careful:
- Come to class prepared (with completed homework, notebook, book & writing utensil)
- Speak in the target language as much as possible
- Electronic use (phones, ipods etc) is strictly prohibited in class
- Always do your best and let me know if you do not understand something
- Quizzes will count as one grade
- Tests will count as two grades unless otherwise specified
- Projects will count as two grades unless otherwise specified
- Homework will be checked daily and will count as 2 quiz grades at the end of each term. NB: no homework will be accepted at the end of class or after class
- Students who make a sustained daily effort to speak only in the target language in and out of class with the teacher and with classmates will receive a one point increase on their term averages.
- Students are responsible for making up missed work due to absences without teacher prompting.
- Make up work must be completed in accordance with how many days students are absent. If students are out one day, they have one day to make up the work... if they are out 2 days, they have 2 days to make up work, etc. If students fail to make up work in a timely fashion, they will receive a zero for the missed work/quiz/test.
- NB: If students are in class when a test or quiz is announced, they will be expected to take the test on the day they return for their absence.

- If you download other people's work, copy or paraphrase it in any way. and pass in as your own work, you will earn a zero on the entire assignment.
- Programs that translate are useful, but are easily detectable and will earn you a zero on the entire assignment, if you pass them off as your work Any use of translation programs must be cited.
- Don't let anyone copy/steal your work and don't copy/steal anyone else's work...all parties involved will earn a zero on the assignment/test.
